Dal Chawal/ Paruppu Sadam - Baby & Toddler Recipe above 10 months - Cook With Naseem

Dal is staple of any household in India - North or South. Each have their own recipes and enjoy them with rice or phulkas. But as parents we need to introduce our babies/toddlers with dal early on and the best way to do that would be through Dal Chawal/ Paruppu Sadam. 

The Dal/Lentil we have used in this recipe is split yellow moong dal which is light on a baby's stomach but gives them the protein that is required for their bodies. Yellow Moong Dal helps the babies by boosting their immune system, contains folate that is essential to brain development and contains Vitamins A, C, K, E and B vitamins. 

Serve Dal Chawal/ Paruppu Sadam to your babies/toddlers who are above 10 months along with a vegetable like Carrot Poriyal or Buttered Mashed Potatoes to make it a complete meal.
